Welcome to the Archives

This site represents my journalism archive. It is intended is for noncommercial research and personal use only; for all other uses please visit the newspapers and magazines in which these pieces were originally published.
The archive is a work in progress. I have produced thousands of published briefs, news articles, features, and other forms of content over the last 40 years. One of my life’s task is to try and archive as much of this as possible, not because I think the work in general is merits collection. Some does, and some does not. But compiling all of this in one place helps me to understand the path I’ve taken in this world, in the brief time allotted to me.
At some point I hope to compile some volumes of selected work. Until then, this is a hit-or-miss collection.

A Note on the Files
This site (archives.jackbeaudoin.com) has been built using the Quartz static site generator, with markdown files that live locally in my Obsidian vault. It is hosted at Cloudflare. Please see documentation in the Obsidian folder “ReadWriteThink Documentation” for clarity on the rather fragile process of content creation and organization in Obsidian, folder synchronization using Sync Folders Pro, git synchronization using Terminal, and Cloudflare hosting and DNS services that make this all happen. At the very least, know that this website is a mirror of the content in Obsidian. Even if this site goes away, the plain text markdown files, PDFs and images remain in Obsidian.
